Upright Cabaret proudly presents Broadway’s Lea Michele in her West Coast Cabaret Debut!
Lea Michele will soon be seen as Eponine in the star-studded production of Les Miserables at The Hollywood Bowl directed by Richard Jay-Alexander. Lea was last seen on Broadway as Wendla in the TONY award winning production of Spring Awakening, directed by Michael Mayer. She has been involved in the show since its inception, and has portrayed the role of Wendla in every reading, workshop, and production on Spring Awakening’s journey to Broadway. Lea was nominated for a 2007 Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Actress in a Musical for her performance, and can be heard on the Grammy winning cast recording of the show. At just 8 years old, Lea made her Broadway debut as Young Cosette in Les Miserables. She then went on to create the role of Little Girl in Ragtime, where she shared the stage with Audra McDonald and Brian Stokes Mitchell, and recreated the role of Shprintze in the 20th Anniversary cast of Fiddler on the Roof, starring Alfred Molina. Lea performed at Radio City Music Hall during the TONY Awards with the casts of Spring Awakening, Ragtime, and Fiddler on the Roof, and is featured on the cast recordings of these shows. Lea will be making her feature film debut in Holy Rollers, starring opposite Jesse Eisenberg. On the small screen, Lea has appeared on NBC’s Third Watch, as well as CBS’s Guiding Light. Lea played the role of Phoebe in a concert version of Paul Scott Goodman’s Alive in the World, which benefited the Twin Tower Orphan Fund. She has performed her solo show Once Upon a Dream to sold out crowds at Feinstein’s at Loews Regency in New York City, and is looking forward to making her West Coast solo debut at the renowned Upright Cabaret at Mark’s Restaurant in West Hollywood.
